Made with Love Explosion Card

I've made a lot of cards with the Made with Love suite of products, and this one is probably my favorite as it has such a surprise inside. I call this an explosion, or pop-out card as the real excitement is when you open the card and see this:

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

  1. Bubble Bath cardstock—card base 5 1/4" by 11", scored at 5 1/2" on the long side and folded in half along the score line. Second piece 4" by 5 1/4". Inside piece 3 1/2" by 2 5/8". Cut one of the hearts with the tab.
  2. Basic White cardstock--4" by 10 3/4"
  3. Made with Love DSP—Die cut 4 of the smallest hearts
  4. Real Red cardstock--die cut 5 of the hearts with the tab
  5. Stamp set--Endless Love
  6. Dies--Endless Love
  7. Hearts of  Love 3D Embossing Folder
  8. Ink—Real Red
  9. Real Red and White twine--about 24"
  10. Lovely Doilies
  11. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots
Let's start with decorating the front of the card first. Fold the 5 1/4" by 11" Bubble Bath card base in half on the score line. Take the 4" by 5 1/4" piece of  Bubble Bath and run it through the Cut and Emboss Machine inside the Hearts of  Love 3D Embossing Folder.

Cut one of the large pink Lovely Doilies in half and attach to the right side of the embossed piece of Bubble Bath. Attach one of the Real Red hearts to the left side of the doily. Stamp the "XO" in Real Red on the Bubble Bath heart, cut the tab off and attach it to the card using Dimensionals. Cut the twine in half and tie a double bow--attach it with a glue dot. Attach this whole thing to the card front.

Now let's do the inside part--this was hard to describe in this post. If you don't understand after reading it, click on my video below. It's from my Facebook Live that I do every Monday at 1 pm PST and then uploaded to YouTube (as Facebook deletes them after 1 month).

Take the large Basic White piece, score at 5 3/8" and fold in half. Now open it up and use a pencil to mark both long sides at 3 3/8" and 7 3/8" (or 2" from the center fold on each side. Place the cardstock in the trimmer lining up the pencil mark from one side of the paper diagonally to the other side and make a score mark. Do the same for the other side. Your page should look like the one on the right, like a star, all score lines crossing in the center.

Now fold in from the sides like the below left picture.  Once folded in, burnish all the edges--it should look like the picture below on the right.

Put your strong adhesive (I used multipurpose glue) on the back side of this folded part and attach it to the back of the inside of your card, with the point at the fold. Add adhesive to the front of the folded inside part and then close the card. Weight down the folded card with a few arcrylic blocks and let it dry.

Take 4 of the Real Red hearts and cut off the tabs. Attach the 4 smaller DSP hearts to these.

Now open up your card, attach one of these hearts to the top, inside the folds and one to the bottom. For the side hearts, attach the left one to just the top of the left fold and the right heart to the underside of the right fold as below.

Stamp "Happy Valentine's Day on the 3 1/2" by 2 5/8" piece of Bubble Bath in Real Red and attach that to the inside bottom and you are done! Here is the same card done in a different color pallet.

And here are the both of them together:
