Sneak Peak at Homemade Sweetness

Homemade Sweetness is a new suite in the Stampin' Up Online exclusives starting 3/3/26. I am, of course, in love with the Designer Series Paper, but the bundle really surprised me. The paper features jars of jam, fruits and some lovely complementary patterns, as you see above. The dies feature a large jar that can be made into a card itself. There is even a die for the fabric you often see people put over the lids of their homemade jams--adorable! I am having lots of fun exploring this suite.

Let's make these cards! Gather your supplies:

  1. Strawberry Slush (or Blueberry Bliss) cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" from either side on the long side and folded toward the center on both score lines (they should meet in the middle). Belly band is 1" by 10".
  2. Basic White cardstock--Inside piece cut with the second largest Perennial Postage die. Front piece cut with the 5th largest Textured Notes dies
  3. Homemade Sweetness DSP--Front pieces are 1 7/8" by 5 1/4" (cut 2), belly band piece is 3/4" by 10". Inside piece is 4" by 5 1/4". Cut one of the larger jars from the DSP for the front.
  4. Stamp set--Filled with Sweetness
  5. Dies--Filled with Sweetness, Textured Notes, Perennial Postage
  6. Ink—Memento Black
  7. Ribbon--Strawberry Slush Faux Linen Ribbon (or Misty Moonlight Checkered Trim)
  8. Embellishments--Strawberries & Dots
  9. Blends--Dark/Light Strawberry Slush, D/L Granny Apple Green, D Daffodil Delight, Color Lifter, D/L Blueberry Bliss
  10. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Mini Glue Dots
Start by folding the card base--fold in on the score lines. Make sure the sides meet in the middle (you may have to fudge a bit as you crease the fold lines). Attach the 2 front pieces of DSP making sure they are aligned top and bottom. Here's another picture of the Strawberry Slush card.

Now let's focus on the inside of the card. Attach the 4" by 5 1/4" piece of DSP. Stamp the sentiment in Memento ink on the Basic White piece that was cut with the Perennial Postage die. Stamp the strawberry in Memento in the right lower corner. to color the strawberry use dark and light Strawberry Slush blends, as well as the dark and light Granny Apple Green. I used the Color lifter to create the lighter part on the upper left. To learn a bit more about using the Blends, watch me color on my video below. Now attach this piece to the inside of the card.

Now to make the belly band. Attach the 3/4" piece of DSP to the 1" piece of Strawberry Slush and set it aside to dry. Stamp the front sentiment in Memento ink to the right side of the Textured Notes die. Tie a bow in the Strawberry Slush ribbon and attach to the die cut using a Mini Glue Dot. Attach the cut out jam using Dimensionals--best to NOT put them where the center of the bow is.

Now wrap the belly band around the card with the ends in the front/overlapping and glue them together. Make sure to not make it too tight so it can slide off easily. Attach the front piece using Dimensionals--it's easiest to put them on the belly band and not the die piece. Attach 2 of the adorable strawberry embellishments and you are done.

For the Blueberry Bliss card it's about the same as above, just using Blueberry Bliss cardstock, the Misty Moonlight ribbon and a couple of the Blueberry embellishments. Have fun!
