Phrases & Frames Sneak Peek

This is a special sneak peek at some products from the new May-August Stampin' Up catalog that comes out for customers on May 5th, but is available now for demonstrators only. This is just one of the perks for being a demonstrator--first dibs on the new products. This card uses a new bundle called Phrases & Frames and the dies from this set can be used with our new Impressions Plate that turns a die into an embossed image. Please watch my Facebook Live (copied to YouTube as Facebook deletes them after a month) below to see how it works. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel while you are there. The post also includes a look at more new products from this catalog. The cardmaking is after that part.

Back to this card--the bundle is the Million Dollar set from Sue Campfield, who sold over $1,000,000 in products! Quite an achievement. I love the sentiments in the set, as well as the fun I am having playing with the new Impressions dies in here--they all turn into embossed pieces! The Designer Series paper and the embellishments I used on this card are also in this new catalog. Here's what the bundle looks like.

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

  1. Thick Basic White cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 8 ½”, scored at 2 1/8" and 4 ¼” on the long side and folded in along the score lines.
  2. Beautiful Ordinary Life  DSP-- 3 1/2" by 4 3/4". Inside piece 1 1/2" by 5 1/2"
  3. Pretty Peacock cardstock--4 1/4" by 11".
  4. Basic White cardstock--4 1/4" by 5 1/2". Second piece 3 1/4" by 2" die cut/embossed with the second smallest die. 3rd piece scrap cut/embossed with the smallest die.
  5. Stamp set--Phrases & Frames
  6. Dies---Phrases & Frames
  7. Ink—Pretty Peacock
  8. Embellishments--Array of Dots
  9. Impressions Plate
  10. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals

Start by cutting the largest Phrases & Frames die out of Pretty Peacock cardstock. Also die cut the second smallest die from the inside of what's leftover from the inside, then turn them over and use the Impressions Plate to emboss them (see video). Do the same for the scrap of Basic White and the smallest die cut.

Stamp the front sentiment in Pretty Peacock on the center/Basic White from the second smallest die cut (the outside part you can use on another card). Stamp the inside sentiment on the smallest Basic White die cut.

Fold the Thick Basic White in half on the score line, then fold in also on the 2 1/4" score line.

Attach the larger piece of the Beautiful Ordinary Life DSP to the back of the big Pretty Peacock rectangle then attach that to the 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" piece of Basic White. Attach this whole thing to JUST THE BOTTOM HALF (BELOW THE 2 1/8" FOLD OF THE CARD FRONT.

Attach the smaller piece of DSP to the bottom of the inside of the card. Attach the small Basic White die cut to the top center of the DSP using Dimensionals.

Attach the smaller Pretty Peacock die cut to the front of the card. Attach the sentiment piece using Dimensionals. Then use one of each of 3 colors of the Array of Dots embellishments as you see below.

You can see below how this card works as an easel card.
