Sunset Coast Diorama Card

I am so excited to share this card with you. First of all because I know you will love the new Sunset Coast bundle and the whole Scenic Coast suite that it is part of from the 2026 May-August catalog. And second of all because I made a fun fold I've never made before, a diorama card. Turns out that this fun fold is really easy, and I had been avoiding making it for a long time as it looked hard. Turns out I was wrong, so I hope you try making it.

The Scenic Coast suite is just a beautiful suite, starting with the gorgeous Designer Series Paper with its shimmering water on every page. But the dies are amazing and the stamp set has great sentiments that go well with the set. There's also some Shimmer Vellum in this suite that I haven't played with yet, but it looks amazing.

I made this card on my Facebook Live this week using different colors and you can watch it below. And don't forget to come back every Monday at 1 pm PST and watch me make a different card.

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

  1. Night of Navy cardstock—2 pieces each 4 1/4" by 5 1/2", both scored at 1/2" and 1" on the long side at either end.
  2. Scenic Coast DSP--piece 3 1/4" by 4" including the sun in the picture. Cut the seashells from the leftover DSP
  3. Basic White cardstock-- 3 1/4" by 4", scrap for the sentiment
  4. Stamp set--Sunset Coast
  5. Ink—Timid Tiger
  6. Embellishments--Sunset Sparkle Sequins
  7. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular and Mini Dimensionals
Start by folding the two Night of Navy pieces. Fold in on both side at the 1" fold and then out on the 1/2" folds. Do this for both pieces. Die cut the lighthouse circle in what will be the front piece, leaving a bit more room at the bottom than the top and centering the circle left to right from the inside folds.

Carefully cut your piece of Scenic Coast DSP so that it includes the sun showing through the opening you just cut in the front piece. Then turn one of the Night of Navy pieces the opposite way so that if you put the two 1/2" pieces against each other it will form a box on the inside. Attach the DSP to the back piece, then attach the two pieces together at the small 1/2" section. Please watch my video below if this doesn't make sense.

Cut the seashell dies from the leftover DSP. Stamp the sentiment in Timid Tiger on the scrap of Basic White. Attach it to the front using Dimensionals. Attach the seashells also. I snuck the one below under the sentiment.

For these two, I did turn the shell upside down as I liked the color better there. I put a Mini Dimensional under the starfish.

For the back piece, I used a 1/2" piece of the leftover DSP and stamped a couple of the sailboats in Timid Tiger before attaching them to the back of the card. For a finishing touch, I used 3 of the Sunset Sparkle Sequins on the front of the card.

Here's the card we made on my Facebook Live:
