Lily of the Valley Z Fold Card

Ok, I have to admit, when I first saw the Valley in Bloom suite in the 2026 May-August Catalog, my first thought was, "Not another flower set". But then I looked closer at the gorgeous DSP (yes, I'm a sucker for a great DSP) and the colors and the adorable flowers you can make with the dies and I was hooked. Do you also notice the Scalloped Borders die cut behind the flowers? This is a coordinating specialty DSP called Luxe White that has white on white embossing which is perfect for adding whatever color you want. This card will be one of the ones I will be using in my June 2026 class, so shoot me an email if you are interested at stampwithdrrobin@gmail.com

If you have any trouble with the directions, or you are just a visual person, watch my Facebook Live (that I've uploaded to YouTube) below.

Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:

  1. Thick Basic White cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 8 ½”, scored at 1 1/4" and 4 ¼” on the long side
  2. Basic White cardstock-- scrap to cut 3 of the grouping of flower buds (you need 7 total)
  3. Berry Botanical Vellum Specialty DSP--1" by 5 1/4" of the Fresh Freesia piece
  4. Valley in Bloom DSP--4" by 5 1/4" piece cut from one of the scrapbooking type pages in the corner. Then cut this down to 2 3/4" (front/left side) and 1 1/4" (inside/right side). For the envelope flap 5 3/4" by 2 1/4". Cut 2 leaves from the green water-colored looking page.
  5. Garden Green cardstock--cut the stem/flowers
  6. Luxe White Specialty DSP--cut the 3rd largest Scalloped Bloom
  7. Stamp set--Lily of the Valley
  8. Dies--Lily of the Valley, Scalloped Bloom
  9. Ink— Fresh Freesia
  10. Shimmering Dots
  11. Dark Highland Heather Blend
  12. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals. Tweezers help
Start by folding your card base. Fold in half on the 4 1/4" score line, then fold back on the 1 1/4" fold line. You can see below how that will look. Now attach the larger piece of Valley in Bloom DSP to the front left side, and the smaller piece to the inside, leaving equal edges around the top/bottom/sides. Attach the Berry Botanical Vellum Specialty DSP to the folded-back front flap.

Using Fresh Freesia ink and a Blending Brush, lightly color the Luxe White Scalloped Bloom piece, starting in the middle so you have darker ink there. Attach 7 of the white blooms to the Garden Green stem/bloom piece. Now attach the 2 leaves together with the stem of the blooming piece behind then attach that to the back of the leaves (you may have to trim the bottom of the stem a bit). Attach that to the Scalloped Bloom piece. Notice that some hangs off the bottom, so don't put any adhesive there.

Attach the Scalloped Bloom to the front flap using Dimensionals. Color 3 of the white Shimmering Dots with the Dark Highland Heather Blend. Let it dry then attach them to the front. Sorry, I forgot to do this on my video.

Stamp the small flower to the inside and you can also stamp it on the front of the envelope. As you can see in the first picture, I also added some DSP to the flap of the envelope.
