Stitched Stocking Fun Fold Card

Stitched Stocking is an upcoming bundle debuting 7/1/26 in the Stampin' Up Online Exclusives. It is part of a beautiful suite with a fun quilting theme. In the suite, there are dies, stamps and paper that can be mixed and matched to make quilt-like cards, or just used to make all sorts of Christmas themed cards. Here I focused on the bundle more than the other components of the suite, but if you go back a couple of posts, I made another card with the suite of products.

Notice the stocking itself is die cut from the Shimmering Stripes Designer Series Paper, that is part of the Violet Dreams Suite that comes out in the same group of  Online Exclusives.

If you get lost reading this, or are more of a visual learner, please watch my video below. Then come watch my Facebook Live every Monday at 1 pm PST to make another card with me.

Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:

  1. Secret Sea cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 7 1/4"”, scored at 4 ¼” on the long side.
  2. Basic White cardstock--4" by 5 1/4"  and inside piece 3 3/4" by 5". Sentiment piece is cut with the topper for the stocking.
  3. A Stitched Season DSP--2" by 5 1/4" (candy cane piece). Cut the holly piece with the topper for the stocking. Cut out the cardinal at 1 7/8" by 1 1/2". Fourth piece is the candy cane 1/2" by 3 3/4" for the inside.
  4. Real Red cardstock--1 5/8" by 2"
  5. Old Olive cardstock--cut with the topper for the stocking.
  6. Shimmering Stripes Specialty DSP--die cut the stocking
  7. Stamp Set--Stitched Stocking
  8. Dies--Stitched Stocking
  9. Embossing Folder--Seasonal Cheer Mini EF
  10. Ink—Real Red
  11. Real Red 1/4" Stitched Ribbon
  12. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots.
Run the largest piece of  Basic White through your Cut & Emboss Machine inside the candy cane Seasonal Cheer Mini Embossing folder, MAKING SURE YOU LINE IT UP TO EMBOSS THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAPER. Attach this to your folded card base. Now attach the candy cane DSP to the left side of the embossed piece, letting a small amount of the white show on the left side.

Attach the holly DSP to the top of the stocking and attach that to the card using Dimensionals.
Attach the bird piece to the Real Red rectangle then attach that to the stocking using Dimensionals.
Tie a bow with the Real Red 1/4" Stitched Ribbon and slant cut the ends. Attach to the stocking using a Mini Glue Dot.

For the inside, take your candy cane 1/2" by 3 3/4" piece of DSP and attach it to the 3 3/4" by 5" piece of Basic White and attach that to the inside of your card.

Time to stamp. Take your Merry Christmas stamp and cover up the second half of the sentiment with Washi Tape or a Post-It Note as below in the picture. Ink up in Real Red, then peel off the Washi Tape and stamp on the white stocking topper. Take the Old Olive piece and cut it in half starting on the short side. Attach the two pieces to the back of the stamped sentiment. To add it to the front of your card, use 2 stacked Dimensionals on the right side of the sentiment piece (the part that hangs off the stocking) and just one Dimensional where it is attaching on top of the stocking.

Here's a similar card I made after cutting out the chubby cardinal (which is a different size than the one above).
