Violet Dreams Sneak Peek


If you love purple (and who doesn't?) and flowers, you will love the new Violet Dreams suite that debuts on 7/1/26 as an Online Exclusive. The suite includes beautiful Designer Series Paper in multiple Stampin' Up! purple colors including the new In Color, Hydrangea Hue. It also includes another specialty paper that is white and sparkly--see my Facebook Live below to get a peek at it. The stamp set is just lovely with images and stamps.  Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:

  1. Gorgeous Grape cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 8 1/4”, scored at 1 1/4" and 4” on the long side. Cut the larger/scalloped oval from the Violet Dreams dies
  2. Basic White cardstock--2 1/4" by 5 1/4" for the inside. Cut the inside oval from the Violet Dreams dies
  3. Violet Dreams DSP--4" by 5 1/4" then cut this down to 2 3/4" (front/left side) and 1 1/4" (inside/right side). Front (Fresh Freesia flowers) piece is 1" by 5 1/4"
  4. Stamp set--Violet Dreams
  5. Dies--Violet Dreams
  6. Ink— Fresh Freesia, Peaceful Pine
  7. Adhesive--Backed Blooms
  8.  Blends--L/D Fresh Freesia, L/D Peaceful Pine, D Highland Heather, L Darling Duckling
  9. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots. 
Start by folding your card base. Fold in half on the 4" score line, then fold back on the 1 1/4" fold line. You can see below how that will look. Now attach the larger piece of Valley in Bloom DSP to the front left side, and the smaller piece to the inside, leaving equal edges around the top/bottom/sides. Attach the front 1" piece to the front/folded back piece as above.


Take the Basic White oval and stamp the group of violets in Fresh Freesia. Color them in using the above Blends. Please watch my video below if you need assistance coloring. Attach this to the Gorgeous Grape scalloped oval. Make a bow with the Fresh Freesia ribbon and slant cut the ends, then attach to the bottom of the violets using a Mini Glue Dot. Attach this to the front/folded back piece with Dimensionals.




Stamp the small flower to the inside Basic White piece in Fresh Freesia (I stamped it off so you can write over it) and you can also stamp it on the front of the envelope. Stamp the sentiment in Peaceful Pine and attach to the inside. 


Attach 2 of the darker purple Adhesive--Backed Blooms to the front and you are done.

  3rd Charming Duck Pond Post This card is a modified gate-fold card as the left front is just 1 1/4". I love how you can use most of the page of the 6" by 6" piece of DSP scenery to make this card. Sometimes I use the back side for the little pieces, but this time I used a separate piece of DSP with just the rushes on it. Enjoy!

  Floating Christmas Tree So if you make a lot of holiday cards like I do, it is time to start working on them! I know, I know, we haven't had Halloween yet, but if you want to send them out before the holiday it is time to get working. And this lovely card was inspired by someone else (sorry I just took a picture of it but there was no name on it so I can't thank you) who used her scraps to make the tree. I took it one step further and made a floating scraps tree. I've been wanting to make a card with this technique for a while and I knew this tree would look fabulous like this. And the second bonus is that I got to use up a ton of Lights Aglow scraps, even the small ones. All you need to do is cut your scraps into 1/2" pieces, attach them to a piece of window sheet and then cut out whatever shape you like. Gingerbread Man & Woman Aren't these gingerbread man and woman just so cute? They are from the new 2025 Sept-Dec Mini Catalog that goes live to everyone at midnight 9/3/25. I am sure they are going to be a big seller, so get yours quickly before they sell out (just my prediction). The stamp set has lots of different expressions for our little gingerbread person, and the dies have many different objects for them to hold, but the cutest part of the bundle is that the die cuts 2 gingerbread men that you fold in half to make a card that can open.  This set is called Gingerbread Man, but I just had to see if I could make a gingerbread woman as he seemed to need a girlfriend. I don't know if you can tell, but her skirt is made from one of the Coneflower Celebrations dies cut from both Real Red and Garden Green cardstock.
