Words & Wishes Banner Card
I know I was late to the party for buying the Party Banner Dies, but I really love how you can turn a banner into a card. I decided today I wanted to make a monochromatic card using Golden Glow, as I hadn't used that new In Color much yet. The Words & Wishes bundle has been sitting on my desk for a while waiting to be used. Those two sets are really a match made in heaven--this card shows of the best of both, plus the gorgeous Bloom Boutique Designer Series Paper that has gold foiling on one side of the different papers that include all 5 of the new In Colors.
I've attached my Facebook Live below, which really helps if you are a visual learner. Come back and watch me every Monday at 1 pm PST for a new card.
Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:
- Golden Glow cardstock—card base 4 1/4" by 11" scored at 5 1/2" then fold in half and cut with the 5th largest Party Banner die. Cut out the "Best Wishes" with the Words & Wishes dies from a 2 1/2" by 4" piece of cardstock after attaching it to the same size Adhesive Sheet (pull off the backing and it's VERY sticky)
- Gold Foil--cut with the 6th largest Party Banner die. Also die cut the fern from Fern and Flora from the center of this gold piece
- Bloom Boutique Designer Series Paper--die cut with the 7th largest Party Banner die
- Basic White cardstock--cut the middle lined Spotlight on Nature die. Also cut with the 6th largest Party Banner die.
- Stamp set--Words & Wishes
- Dies--Words & Wishes, Party Banner, Fern and Flora, Spotlight on Nature
- Ink— Golden Glow
- Adhesive Sheets--2 1/2" by 4" piece
- Blends--L/D Fresh Freesia, L/D Peaceful Pine, D Highland Heather, L Darling Duckling
- Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool, Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals
Take your Golden Glow card base that you have folded in half and cut with the 5th largest Party Banner die. Attach the Gold Foil Banner to the front--make sure you have cut the fern out from the inside of the banner before you attach it. Attach the Bloom Boutique Banner to the front of this.
Now for some stamping, which is all in Golden Glow ink. Stamp the cake on to the Basic White Spotlight on Nature die cut. Stamp some candles then attach some Dimensionals to the back but don't take the backing off yet. Stamp the inside sentiment on the Basic White banner as well as 2 of the presents. Attach this to the inside of the card.
Peel off the backing of the Adhesive Sheet piece and attach that to the same sized piece of Golden Glow. Cut out the thinner word dies--if you are using the "Wishes" be sure to keep the dot for the "I". Lay out everything on the card before attaching it to make sure it all fits. I recommend pulling off the backing and attaching the word dies first, then the cake circle (with Dimensionals). Cut the fern piece in half, then attach it with tiny dots of glue. Beautiful!
