Painted Patch Sneak Peek

This card is a sneak peek at the products in the Painted Patch Suite from the Sept-Dec Stampin' Up! Catalog. The Painted Pumpkin bundle includes not just stamps and dies, but also a set of 5 masks. If you look at the pumpkins in my card above you can see the one on the left I made using the masks, the one on the right I die cut from the DSP and the one in the middle/front was just using some of the dies. The sentiments in this bundle have a bold font, like the "Thank You" in the card.

The Painted Patch DSP has modern but retro twist and uses a great combination of non-traditional fall colors (Pool Party, Petal Pink) mixed with some more traditional ones (Cajun Craze and Golden Glow). Together they make an amazing set of paper. I also used the embellishments, ribbon and 3D Embossing Folder from this suite in my card, which you will see below is a fun fold.

Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:

  1. Cajun Craze cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 4 1/4”, second piece same size scored at 2 3/4" on the long side. Die cut pumpkin
  2. Painted Patch DSP--6" by 5 1/4" scored at 2" on the long side (be sure to watch the direction of the print when you cut it out). Die cut one of the pumpkins
  3. Petal Pink cardstock--2 1/2" by 4"
  4. Secret Sea cardstock--die cut a stem for the pumpkin and one of the leaf/stem pieces
  5. Basic White cardstock--2 1/2" by 4" for the inside and a strip of 1/2" for the sentiment. Another 4 1/4" by 5 1/2"  piece for using the masks
  6. Bundle--Painted Pumpkin stamp set, dies and masks
  7. Rustic Check 3D Embossing Folder
  8. Ink—Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Cajun Craze and Secret Sea
  9. Calypso Coral & Copper Bordered Ribbon
  10.  Painted Patch Adhesive-Backed Dots
  11. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular and Mini Dimensionals

Let's start by making the card, then we will decorate it. Fold the DSP along the 2" score line--you can use either side for the inside or outside as you wish. Attach the 4" by 5 1/4" part of the DSP to the 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" piece of Cajun Craze. Now fold the other piece of Cajun Craze in half along the score line and attach it to the inside of the card as below, making sure when it is closed over the front flap it is centered.

Using Secret Sea ink, stamp the 2 1/2" by 4" piece of Basic White using the vine stamp. Attach this to the inside of the small card.

Using Secret Sea ink, stamp the Thank You on the 1/2" strip of Basic White. Slant cut the right side and leave about 5/8" on the left of the sentiment. Tie a small piece of the Calypso Coral & Copper Bordered Ribbon around the left side of the sentiment.

Now use the masks and these ink in this order on the first 3 masks--Petal Pink, Calypso Coral (only on the bottom part) and Cajun Craze. Use Secret Sea for the stems. Cut them out--only use one on this card and save the rest. If you watch my video below, you can get a better feel as how I did this. Then come back every Monday at 1 pm PST on my Facebook page (Stamp with Dr Robin) and see me make another card.

Run the piece of Petal Pink cardstock through your Cut and Emboss Machine inside the Rustic Check 3D Embossing Folder and attach it to the front of the small card. I attached the die cut (Pool Party) and mask-made pumpkins using Multipurpose Glue. Attach the stem to the die cut pumpkin, then attach it to the card using Regular Dimensionals. I attached the vine using 2 Mini Dimensionals under the leaves and Multipurpose Glue for the vine.

I then used 1 big and 1 small Cajun Craze  Painted Patch Adhesive-Backed Dots. Here's a close up:

Here's another card I made, using some different pumpkins:
