Fun Fold Painted Pumpkin Card



I am having such fun playing with the Painted Patch suite of products as I get ready for my class using this suite on 10/18/26. I am really loving the retro feel of this Designer Series Paper and never would have put together Bubbly Bath, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Cajun Craze and Secret Sea into a fall/pumpkin-themed DSP but it somehow works! It took me some time to realize I could make a beautiful pumpkin card without using Pumpkin Pie! The designers at Stampin' Up! really know what they are doing.

Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:

  1. Calypso Coral cardstock—card base 4 1/4” by 11" scored on the long side at 5 1/2", second piece 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" (we will cut it down after embossing it).
  2. Painted Patch DSP--3" by 12" scored at 4" and 8". Die cut two of the pumpkins
  3. Cajun Craze cardstock--Die cut one of the detailed pumpkins
  4. Secret Sea cardstock--die cut a stem for the pumpkin
  5. Basic White cardstock--2 3/4" by 3 3/4" for the inside of the front DSP and 3 3/4" by 5" for the inside of the big card.
  6. Bundle--Painted Pumpkin 
  7. Stamp set--Phrases & Frames
  8. Rustic Check 3D Embossing Folder
  9. Ink—Calypso Coral
  10. Calypso Coral & Copper Bordered Ribbon
  11.  Painted Patch Adhesive-Backed Dots
  12. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals
Run the smaller piece of Calypso Coral through the Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine inside the Rustic Check 3D Embossing Folder. Now cut it down to 4 1/8" to 5 3/8"--I cut after embossing as the embossing folder seems to un-equally shrink the paper one way but not the other. Wrap the Calypso Coral & Copper Bordered Ribbon around the center of the embossed piece of Calypso Coral and tie a knot on the left side of the card. Slant cut the ends of the ribbon.  Attach it to the folded card base. 

Fold the piece of DSP inward on the two score lines. Attach the center part of the DSP to the card base using Dimensionals.  Stamp the sentiment on the smaller piece of Basic White in Calypso Coral, attach a die cut pumpkin from the DSP and then attach to the inside of the little front card.


Using one of the stamps with 3 big pumpkins, ink it up with Calypso Coral, stamp it off once (hard) on a piece of scrap paper, and then stamp on the larger piece of Basic White. Then stamp the sentiment from Phrases & Frames full strength with Calypso Coral ink in the center of the pumpkins. Attach this to the inside of the big card.



Attach a die cut DSP pumpkin to the front of the small card on the front. Attach a Secret Sea stem to the Cajun Craze pumpkin and attach that with Dimensionals. Attach 3 of the Cajun Craze Painted Patch Adhesive-Backed Dots to the front of the card.

  3rd Charming Duck Pond Post This card is a modified gate-fold card as the left front is just 1 1/4". I love how you can use most of the page of the 6" by 6" piece of DSP scenery to make this card. Sometimes I use the back side for the little pieces, but this time I used a separate piece of DSP with just the rushes on it. Enjoy!

  Floating Christmas Tree So if you make a lot of holiday cards like I do, it is time to start working on them! I know, I know, we haven't had Halloween yet, but if you want to send them out before the holiday it is time to get working. And this lovely card was inspired by someone else (sorry I just took a picture of it but there was no name on it so I can't thank you) who used her scraps to make the tree. I took it one step further and made a floating scraps tree. I've been wanting to make a card with this technique for a while and I knew this tree would look fabulous like this. And the second bonus is that I got to use up a ton of Lights Aglow scraps, even the small ones. All you need to do is cut your scraps into 1/2" pieces, attach them to a piece of window sheet and then cut out whatever shape you like. Charming Duck Pond Fun Fold I suddenly realized that the Charming Duck Pond bundle and everything that went with it was on the Last Chance List and I had never played with mine, though I had it for months! And I had loved the colors in it and the myriad of cards others had made, so it was time to take it out of the wrapping and get going. Later this week, come back to my blog, as I made several other cards using this bundle. I find the ducks in their ponds with their babies so adorable, so I had to start by using one of those pieces of DSP. I also love the pieces of DSP with the carp on them, but that's for another card.   I am calling this card a spotlight flap card.
