Luxe Foliage Fun Fold


 The Luxe Foliage Specialty Designer Series Paper is the Product of the Month for September 2026. The Luxe Foliage DSP is stunning! Every page has gold foil on it, and LOTS of gold foil, not just accents. This piece is Secret Sea and the others are Pecan Pie and Peaceful Pine and they will be great for all sorts of occasions as they are all flowers and foliage. Love it!!

Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:

  1. Secret Sea cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 8 1/2” scored at 4 1/4" on the long side and folded in half.  Second piece 4" by 2 3/4""
  2. Luxe Foliage DSP--2 pieces 1" by 4" and die cut a flower
  3. Gold Foil--die cut one of the fern pieces
  4. Basic White cardstock--2 3/4" by 4" for the inside, die cut the sentiment layer
  5. Bundle--Fern & Flora
  6. Embossing Folder--Fern & Flora
  7. Ink—Secret Sea
  8.  Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems
  9. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals
Fold your card base in half on the score line. Then starting from the open edge on the front of the card, cut in at 1 1/4" from the right side and all the way up to the score line (4 1/4"). Do the same on the left side of the front of the card. Now glue down those 2 flaps. Attach the 1" pieces of DSP to these glued down flaps. 

Run the 2 3/4" piece of Secret Sea through your Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine inside the Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder. Attach that to the front center of your card. 

Time to stamp. Using Secret Sea ink, stamp the front sentiment toward the right side of the Basic White die cut. 

For the inside, stamp the butterfly in the upper left corner and a stamped-off fern in the bottom right corner on the 2 3/4" by 4" piece of Basic White. Attach that to the inside of the card flap.


Now let's finish the front--attach the bottom right of your fussy cut flower to the die cut sentiment piece. Put some Dimensionals on the back, including the flower. Attach the gold foil fern to the front of your card, then the sentiment/flower piece. Add one big and one small gold Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems and you are done.   3rd Charming Duck Pond Post This card is a modified gate-fold card as the left front is just 1 1/4". I love how you can use most of the page of the 6" by 6" piece of DSP scenery to make this card. Sometimes I use the back side for the little pieces, but this time I used a separate piece of DSP with just the rushes on it. Enjoy!

  Floating Christmas Tree So if you make a lot of holiday cards like I do, it is time to start working on them! I know, I know, we haven't had Halloween yet, but if you want to send them out before the holiday it is time to get working. And this lovely card was inspired by someone else (sorry I just took a picture of it but there was no name on it so I can't thank you) who used her scraps to make the tree. I took it one step further and made a floating scraps tree. I've been wanting to make a card with this technique for a while and I knew this tree would look fabulous like this. And the second bonus is that I got to use up a ton of Lights Aglow scraps, even the small ones. All you need to do is cut your scraps into 1/2" pieces, attach them to a piece of window sheet and then cut out whatever shape you like. Charming Duck Pond Fun Fold I suddenly realized that the Charming Duck Pond bundle and everything that went with it was on the Last Chance List and I had never played with mine, though I had it for months! And I had loved the colors in it and the myriad of cards others had made, so it was time to take it out of the wrapping and get going. Later this week, come back to my blog, as I made several other cards using this bundle. I find the ducks in their ponds with their babies so adorable, so I had to start by using one of those pieces of DSP. I also love the pieces of DSP with the carp on them, but that's for another card.   I am calling this card a spotlight flap card.
