Shining Stars October Product of the Month

The Shining Stars set of dies is AMAZING and you can buy it for only $5 and only while it lasts as a Product of the Month in October. To buy this product you will need to spend $75 on anything else you want. The sentiment and the inside stamping on this card come from a great bundle called Candle Party that will be available in November as an Online Exclusive. It is a great bundle for making birthday cards. I plan to use the candles to make a menorah for Chanukah too!

If you want to see how to make this card, watch my Facebook Live (uploaded to YouTube) below if reading this seems difficult. Then come back every Monday at 1 pm PST and watch me make a new card on Facebook.

Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:

  1. Very Vanilla cardstock--card base is 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4". Second piece cut with the Stylish Shapes dies
  2. Autumn Opulence DSP--3" by 5 1/2", cut a star with the 5th largest star die
  3. Pecan Pie cardstock--2 pieces 1/2" by 5 1/2"
  4. Cut stars from various matching cardstock--mine were from Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Pecan Pie
  5. Dies--Shining Stars, Stylish Shapes
  6. Stamp sets--Candle Party
  7. Swirls of Magic Embossing Folder
  8. Ink—Pecan Pie, Blackberry Bliss and Crushed Curry
  9. Neutrals Jute Combo Pack
  10. Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Sequins
  11. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular & Mini Dimensionals, Tear 'N Tape
Let's start with the inside of the card. Stamp the inside sentiment from Candle Party with Pecan Pie ink. Stamp 3 of the candles with Blackberry Bliss--notice one of the ones on the right is stamped off. Stamp the flames in Crushed Curry.

Stamp the "Happy Birthday" on the Very Vanilla Stylish Shapes die cut using Pecan Pie ink.

Now on to the front of the card. Here's how I cut the stars that are open, like the Blackberry Bliss and Pecan Pie on my card. For the Blackberry Bliss one I used the 3rd and 4th largest stars and for the Pecan Pie one, I used the 5th and 6th largest dies, but use whatever size and color you want. For the Lost Lagoon star, I ran it through the Cut & Emboss machine inside the Swirls of Magic Embossing Folder.

Having the card in the landscape mode, attach the two 1/2" pieces of Pecan Pie to the top and bottom of the card, about 1/4" from edge. Attach the 3" by 5 1/2" piece of Autumn Opulence over the Pecan Pie pieces. Scatter 4-5 starts in various colors on the front. I did use Mini and Regular Dimensionals to attach the DSP star on this card.

Put some Tear 'N Tape on the back of the Stylish Shape die cut, then attach the Pecan Pie colored jute from the Neutrals Jute Combo Pack. Shape it into a bow, without tying a bow so that it isn't so lumpy. Watch the video below if you want to learn how to do this. Attach the sentiment piece to the front using Dimensionals.

I also made a more feminine card using the same products and added some Golden Glow 2026-28 In Color Dots. Which do you like better?
