Alpine Winter Pinecones

This is a card I initially made as a holiday card (see picture below) but decided it could also be a great masculine birthday card, which I seem to always need more of. I plan to give it to my brother in January for his birthday. It's made with a mix of products from various suites, and I made it on my Facebook live today so if you are a visual learner, or don't understand my written directions, please watch it below. Then come back every Monday at 1 pm PST and watch another live with me!

Let's make this card. Supplies needed:

  1. Peaceful Pine cardstock—card base 5 ½” by 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”. Second piece punched with the Rounded Rectangle Punch
  2. Basic White cardstock—2 ¾” by 5 ¼” for the inside. Second piece punched with the Rounded Rectangle Punch
  3. Alpine Winter  DSP—3” by 5 ¼”
  4. All Wrapped Up Specialty DSP—1” by 5 ¼”
  5. Stamp Set— Woodland Wishes and Banner Sayings
  6. Dies—Home for Christmas
  7. Punch—Rounded Rectangle
  8.  Ink—Peaceful Pine
  9. Naturals Jute Combo Pack

8.  Take the long scalloped die from Home for Christmas and cut off the edge of the front—I put the flat edge at about 1” in. Fold the card base on the score line and attach the pinecone DSP to the front. Now attach the All Wrapped Up DSP to the inside of the card, making sure it lines up with the front DSP and has equal edges of the card base showing on the 3 sides.

Using Peaceful Pine ink, stamp the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Banner Sayings on the Basic White punched piece. Stamp the little set of 3 leaves/pinecone from Woodland Wishes along the sides of this piece using STAMPED OFF Peaceful Pine ink. Use the same stamp along the sides of the inside Basic White piece (not stamped off) and for the inside sentiment (also from Banner Sayings). Attach to the inside of the card.

Cut the Peaceful Pine Rectangle in half starting on the short side. Attach this to the back of the Basic White sentiment piece, separating the 2 pieces so that even amounts show behind the white on the top and bottom. Add Dimensionals to the back.

Wrap the Early Espresso Neutral Jute around your closed hand twice and adhere to the front using either Tear 'N Tape or just double-sided tape. Attach the front sentiment with Dimensionals and you are done.

Here's the version I made for a holiday card.
